AVILES

1st - The games will be played daily at the Polideportivo Quirinal from August 5th to August 13th over 9 rounds beginning at 16.00 h. Last round will start at 10.00 h.

2nd - The Swiss International sytem will be used. The tournament will serve for the obtaining of FIDE, FEDA and FAPA ratings.

3rd - Pairings will be made by computer. Objections and claims will not be admitted except in those cases where the protest is as a result of an error in the input of data or parameters, and in those cases only two hours before the beginning of the round.

4th - Game rhythm: All moves must be made within 90 minutes, but each time a player makes a move he / she receives 30 extra seconds. That is, 90 minutes + 30 seconds / move.

5th - The prizes will not be shared and will not be cumulative. Ties in the final standings will be solved in the following way:

1) BUCHOLZ –1
2) BUCHOLZ without eliminating any opponent.(Total Bucholz)
3) The sum of Progressive Points. In case of tie the first round score will be discarded, if the tie persists, the second round score will be discarded, etc.

6th - The Technical Management of the tournament is made up of the following people:

7th - The Competition Committee will be made up of the Tournament Director, the Tournament Technical Director, the International FIDE arbiters, and other members to be appointed by the organisation.

8th - Those players that do not turn up for two consecutive or alternate rounds will be disqualified. The organising committee has the right to disqualify any player that does not attend the presentation.

9th - At the end of the game, ALL players must set up their pieces, and leave the original scoresheets, duly filled in and signed, at the tournament secretariat in the hall of play. They must also leave the clock along with the scoresheets at the judges' table.

10th - Unsporting behaviour, as so judged by the Competition Committee, will be sufficient reason to disqualify a player from the tournament.

11th -The special trophies will not be compatible with the other OPEN prizes, with the exception of the best player from Avilés.

12th - The pairings will be put on display in the hall of play.

13th - All that which has not been foreseen or laid down in these rules will be resolved by present FIDE regulations and the Competition Committee.

14th - The "José Ramón" trophy has been created for, and is destined to, those people (players, delegates, technical staff etc.), organisations or entities that, in some way, have stood out during, or before, the tournament as a result of acts or behaviour worthy of special recognition. This trophy will be awarded by the organisation by virtue of the merits displayed.
